Game Theory IE2018

How do firms make decisions (related to pricing, advertising, capacity planning, and
market entry) in a scenario with limited competition?
What are dominant strategies? What do firms do when they have dominated strategies?
What could the firms do when they do not have any dominant strategies?

The Course will introduce Game Theory and its applications in engineering and social sciences.
Game theory and game theoretical thinking are essential for analyzing various situations in
business, politics, and everyday life. It helps the learner to amend various situations in business
as games with strategies and payoffs. Auctions are an important application of Game
Theoretical thinking and the Nobel Prize in Economics in the year 2020 was for their
contribution to Auction theory. It also helps in analyzing large scale networks with their
interconnectedness and auctions of online advertising spaces.
